Freshman Mom is a powerful debut novel - contemporary, fast-paced and fun -- with themes illustrating the value of friendship, family, education and moving on. The book tells the story of 39-year-old single mom Meredith Lieberman's freshman year in college, filled with the angst of parenthood, mingled with the challenges of going back to school and the uncertainty of new relationships.

Karen is also proud to volunteer as a Senior Senator in the California Senior Legislature, where she researches and write proposals for potential legislation to improve the lives of older adults and their families.
